A magnificent abstract watercolour completed in 2022. It looks wonderful with white matting (or even better, the artist recommends double matting with a soft French Blue narrow .25" internal matte -- AFA refers to this as the "Bottom Mat" -- and a white surrounding matte of 3.0" (for the 14" x 11" size, or proportionally larger or smaller for other print sizes) -- AFA refers to this as the "Top Mat".) The original artwork has a 1" white frame.

Prints of this watercolour are sold uncropped, matching the proportions of the original.

If you select 14" x 11", that is a standard matting and framing size available everywhere. The other sizes are not standard, but AFA or your personal framer can mat and frame it to preserve the dimensions. All sizes look excellent printed on canvas and left unframed.

Born 4 October 1919. Permanent home in Ottawa, Ontario since 1946. Currently resides in Chelsea, Québec. Largely self-taught, Millie has has painted in oils for many years: portrait, figure, and landscapes — the latter largely of the Gatineau Hills here in Québec. At the age of 103, she has almost a century of painting behind her! Most recently Millie has been working in watercolours. “I love watercolours for their transparency and spontaneity, combined with rich, expressive colour. I find great inspiration from painting the changing skies. Most of my landscapes start with a beautiful sky and the rest flows from that.” Current works are smaller moody landscapes and abstract compositions in watercolour and India ink.
